Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Nutrition Services |
Nutritional assessment, counseling and education are provided to families of Kendall County. Food vouchers are available to financially eligible women and children. |

What is WIC?
WIC stands for Women, Infants, and Children. It is a supplemental food program that provides nutrition information and free foods to help mothers, babies and children get the nutrients they need for proper growth and development.
Am I Eligible for WIC?
If you are:
a pregnant woman; are breastfeeding (up to one year after giving birth); are a parent, gaurdian, or caretaker of an infant or child younger than 5 years of age.
If your income:
is within WIC guidelines (click here to see current income levels for the WIC program) |
Your First Visit to a WIC clinic
At your first visit to the WIC clinic, you will need to have:

Proof of income- last two paycheck stubs, income tax forms, Medical card, or Link Card

Proof of address- a recent utility bill or piece of mail dated within the past 60 days.

Proof of birth for infants and children

You must bring children with you to WIC clinic
Kendall County Health Department also asks you to bring your child's most recent/ updated immunization record.
After your initial visit, WIC staff will give you instructions for future visits.
Attendance at Nutrition Education classes is a required component of the program. |
WIC Food Instruments
WIC provides Food Instruments for supplemental foods such as iron-fortified infant formula, milk, eggs, cheese, juice, cereal, beans, peanut butter, whole grains, tortillas, fruits and vegetables.
Typically a three-month supply of Food Instruments are issued at one time.

Mondays & Fridays are prenatal clinics. WIC education classes are Thurdays. |
