Remodeling or Change of Ownership

Change of Ownership

Are you considering buying or selling an existing food service establishment in Kendall County?
Call Us First!

Each year many restaurants will change ownership. Please note that Kendall County Food Service Facility permits are not transferable to new owners. If you are a new owner and have not contacted us, you are operating without a valid permit.

Before a new license is issued, a change of ownership inspection is conducted. At this inspection, outstanding violations are addressed. Also, items that do not meet the Illinois Department of Public Health's Food Service Sanitation Code requirements will be documented and must be brought up to code, as they are no longer grandfathered in. After the correction of outstanding violations (or a plan of action is agreed upon) a permit is then issued to the new owner. Call our office at (630) 553-9100, ext. 8026 for more information, or to set up a change of ownership inspection.
