Mobilizing for Action Through Planning and Partnerships

Every five years each Certified Local Health Department must go through a recertification process by submitting an agency IPLAN (Illinois Process for Local Assessment of Needs) to the Illnois Department of Public Health. It is expected that this strategic plan be representative of the public health needs of the community.

Kendall County Health Department will be required to submit the next IPLAN in the fall of 2011. The Health Department has chosen to use MAPP (Mobilizing Action Through Planning and Partnerships) as the process to developing the county's 2016 IPLAN.

MAPP

  • MAPP is a strategic approach to community health improvement.
  • MAPP is intended to result in the development of and implementation of a community-wide strategic plan for public health improvement.
  • The plan must be developed through broad participation by persons who share the commitment to and have a role in the community's health and overall well-being.
  • MAPP focuses on the creation and strengthening of thel local public health system.
